Bright And Holy Kids — Mary
Today, October 9th, is the feast day of Our Lady of Good Help. It was she who appeared to a young Belgian immigrant girl named Adele Brise, in 1859, in Champion, WI.
Written as a short and sweet Marian prayer book for women, In Her Heart by Kimberly Fries is simply perfect for your busy teen girls! It meets the need to rest and reflect on Our Mother’s love for us, and how she always brings us to her Son, Jesus.
Educator Christine Peters says, "I enjoyed reading Our Lady’s Picture Book by Anthony DeStefano, Illustrated by Juliana Kolesova, to the Kindergarten class I worked with at St. Joseph Catholic School in Vancouver, WA last year. The beautiful illustrations and rhymes kept the children’s attention."
This is a book overview rather than a review as I am the illustrator! But if I may say, it is a book worth sharing- even for the text alone. The Catholic Treasury of Prayers and Verses, compiled by Emmaus Road Publishing, is quite the comprehensive collection of the classic Catholic prayers, those you'd expect along with some treasures that may be new to you and your children.
My Bright and Holy Kids blog begins with a review of Colleen Pressprich’s “Marian Consecration for Families with Young Children,” illustrated by Rebecca Górzyńska.
