Book Review: Hail Mary

Hail Mary Book

All Artwork © 2010, Ignatius Press

So simple, so sweet! Hail Mary by Maïte Roche is exactly what you’d expect, the Hail Mary prayer, but in a beautiful little presentation.

The text is quite traditional, which I appreciate. I was never able to get used to saying “you and your” when first I was taught “thou and thy.” But I’ve always been one for what we’d consider elevated language- even as a child! I think I was born old.

The illustrations for Hail Mary fit the prayer perfectly. Full of beautiful blues with touches of rose and gold, the colors are perfect for Our Lady. And the pages follow the first four joyful mysteries of the Holy Rosary- the Annunciation, Visitation, Nativity, and Presentation in the Temple.

The book is filled with sweet, smiling faces, happy children, cute animals and lovely landscapes.

Hail Mary would make a great Baptism gift, Christmas present, or new baby gift (I plan on gifting one myself, soon!). Get yourself a copy or two today for your little one and for another’s!

Meet Adalee
Mom, Freelance Illustrator, and Catholic Author Adalee Hude is passionate about children's literature and gets giddy over good art. She spends most of the day with her very bouncy baby boy, evenings with her beloved Mr. H, and sneaks into her Brightly Hude Studio early in the morning, with a strong cuppa tea.
Some of the books covered here were sent to her gratis by publishers especially for the purpose of review, but are her own opinions, given with appreciation of the craft.
